Bhutan bags 41 medals in International Karate Championship

The third International Karate Championship 2017 was held in the capital over the weekend. A total of 235 participants from Bhutan, India, and Nepal took part in the championship.

In the team event, athletes from Arunachal Pradesh in India came first while Bhutan stood second. In the individuals category, Bhutan bagged 10 gold, 15 silver, and 16 bronze medals. The annual championship is aimed to foster friendship among the South Asian countries. Bhutan Karate Association organised the championship.
