The Bangladeshi Embassy in Bhutan observed the 47th Victory Day of Bangladesh at the Chancery in Thimphu today.
The celebration began with the hoisting of the Bangladeshi national flag by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan, Jishnu Roy Choudhary. The Ambassador also read out the Bangladeshi President’s message to the gathering, which had special mention of father of the nation-Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who declared the independence of Bangladesh on March 26, 1971.
Apart from Bangaladeshi officials, senior Bhutanese government officials and other eminent personalities were in attendance at the occasion.
