A 19-year-old woman has been killed on the spot in an accident yesterday.
The accident took place at around 6:30 pm at Bjumja, about four kilometres from the Gedu police station.
Including the driver, who has been critically injured with severe head injuries, there were three other people in the tipper truck.
The others escaped with minor injuries.
The driver is undergoing treatment at the national referral hospital in Thimphu.
They were on their way to Thimphu from Phuntsholing when the accident occurred.
The deceased who was from Monggar is survived by her husband and their nine-month-old child.
Police said the accident could have been caused by over speeding.
