A well known Bhutanese singer, Lopen Dengo, has been awarded the 7th Citycell-Channel i Music Award for his contributions to Bhutanese music.
He received the award during the 40th Independence Anniversary of Bangladesh.
Channel i is one of the leading private TV channels in Bangladesh.
This year, nominations for the award were received from the SAARC countries.
Lopen Dengo travelled to Bangladesh with a nine member cultural delegation from the Royal Academy of Performing Arts to receive the award.
He said the award will motivate him further to contribute to music.
