The miscellaneous hearing involving former Chang Gup, Naku and 10 other suspects were held yesterday in Thimphu.
They are charged with Forgery, Government Land Encroachment and Bribery.
According to Office of the Attorney General (OAG), they had illegally transferred the land ownership of 49 decimals of dry land belonging to late Ani Norzom at Talakha in Chang Gewog.
During a new sathram compilation survey in 2000, they relocated their land at Tshalumaphey and increased their land holdings taking 134 decimals of government land there. Ani Norzom’s land at Talakha was left empty or Tsa-Tong during the time.
OAG requested the court to confiscate the lands and imprison the suspects as per the law.
