Drukair to fly to Singapore

Come March and Drukair will fly to Singapore.

The Bhutanese department of civil aviation and the Singaporean civil aviation authority signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect today. The formality will be complete only after signing the air service agreement between Bhutan and Singapore day after tomorrow. The new air route is being launched to increase the number of major gateways to the Kingdom. This will help to bring in more tourists.

Drukair officials said the new air route to Singapore will attract tourists from Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia.

According to the agreement, Tashi air will also be allowed to fly to Singapore.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Tashi air said it will not fly in the initial period.
