17 percent decrease in unresolved irregularities

AuditConferenceThe Royal Audit Authority (RAA) reported a decrease of 17 percent in unresolved irregularities in 2015 as against 2014.

The unresolved irregularities are un-settled justifications or actions taken by agencies’ management which are either inadequate or unacceptable to RAA.

As compared to the irregularities of over Nu 634 M reported in 2014, the amount decreased to over Nu 523 in 2015.17 percent decrease in unresolved irregularities

Dungsum Cement Corporation Limited has significant irregularities amounting to over Nu 22 million as the head of finance and late assistant finance officer fraudulently withdrew cheques.

Food Corporation of Bhutan, with misappropriation of cash and shortage of stock items worth Nu 9.122 M, falls in the second place.

Ministry of Health’s and Election Commission of Bhutan’s irregularities amounted to over Nu 5 M.

The Ministry of Information and communication also had irregularities of over Nu 4 M.

Irregularities from Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs, Natural Resource Development Corporation Limited, Zhemgang, the Gewog Administration of Sangbay Haa, Patshaling Gewog under Tsirang, Naja Gewog under Paro, Dzongkhag Administration, Dagana and Bhutan Postal Corporation Limited have been reported.

A total irregularity of Nu 557 M from Mangdechhu, Punatshangchhu 1 and 2 Hydroelectric Project Authorities have also been reported.
