17-year-old stabbed

A 17-year-old boy has been critically injured after he was stabbed by a 25-year-old man in Thimphu on June 27. He is being treated at the national referral hospital.

The stabbing took place at around 5 pm in what is popularly known as the Hongkong market in Thimphu. He has sustained a deep stab wound in the right side of the chest.

According to the statement to the police, about 12 friends including the 17-year-old boy were loitering near the Hongkong market when a fight broke out between the two. In the tussle, the 25-year-old man drew out a knife and stabbed the victim.

The 25-year-old suspect is still at large. Police decribed him as a repeated offender.
