Foreign ministry verifying if two arrested in Nepal are Bhutanese

dZEEThe foreign ministry say they are in the process of verifying if the two arrested in Nepal are Bhutanese.

Nepal Police have arrested five suspects from Nepal-India Border for allegedly smuggling Dzee to Bhutan via India. Two of the arrested claim they are Bhutanese.

According to Nepal’s local media, the police also confiscated counterfeit US currency and 24 rare beads from them.

The Himalayan Times of Nepal says the suspects were arrested after they robbed a Dzee seller in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. The Dzee were apparently being brought to Bhutan.

Reports say the Nepal police have sent the five to Kathmandu for legal action, while the dzees and the currency are being inspected by relevant authorities to determine their authenticity.
