PM meets Ambassadors of South Korea and Australia

  PM+Amb-Korea-Lee Yun-Young-Ambassadors of South Korea and Australia called on the Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang, this morning.

Lyonchhen thanked the Ambassador of South Korea to Bhutan, Lee Yun-Young Korea’s valuable support to Bhutan in human resource development.

Ambassador Young and Lyonchhen also talked about fostering people to people exchanges and promoting tourism among others.

“South Korea has been successful in showcasing their way of life vibrantly through their films and pop culture,” Lyonchhen told Ambassador Young. He said that Bhutan could draw inspiration and learn from South Korea on ways promote its culture and tradition.

Lyonchhen conveyed his deep gratitude to the Ambassador for his support in sending Bhutanese to study and work in Australia. “The students go to work overseas where they can not only pursue higher education but also earn a decent living.”

Lyonchhen affirmed that these values went beyond mere financial aspects; young people come back to Bhutan with lots of experiences and valuable work discipline.

The University of Canberra’s contribution in uplifting the Bhutanese tertiary education systemhas been significant and Lyonchhen thanked Ambassador Suckling for promoting these important programs.

The ambassador iterated that Australia would be happy to support Bhutan in its future needs and aspirations.
