Japan gives equipment worth Nu 10 M to Bhutan

Japan gives equipment worth Nu 10 M to Bhutan Japan government, through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), gave tools and equipment worth Nu 10 M to Bhutan Telecom in the capital, today.

The equipment, about 80 of them, includes OTDR used for fiber cable inspection and trouble diagnosis and Road cutter machine, among others.

They will be used for the Pilot Project in Jakar, Bumthang, and for training program in Thimphu.Japan gives equipment worth Nu 10 M to Bhutan--

The project in Jakar is aimed at increasing internet speed in the area by replacing previous cable with fibre.

The Chief Representative of JICA, Yumiko Asakuma says the objective of the project is to educate officials of Bhutan Telecom to provide high internet services.

The project will start from September, this year.
