Stranded Bhutanese in Nepal to be brought back by roadBhutanese stranded in Nepal will be brought to the country by road. They will be dropped at Kakarvitta in Nepal which borders India. From Kakarvitta, officials from Phuentshogling will mobilise buses to transport them to Bhutan.

The Cabinet Secretary, Kinzang Wangdi said they are making all efforts to bring them back. He said they have been trying to locate them through contacts in Kathmandu.

“We have received information that they are about 70 people stranded in Kathmandu.”

The Cabinet Secretary said they will hire several buses from Kathmandu to Kakarvitta and that the foreign ministry is sending two people who will accompany these Bhutanese from Kathmandu to Kakarvitta.

“At the same time, through home ministry’s support we will be sending two officials from the Dungkhag Administration in Phuentsholing and they will take two buses to Kakarvitta and and bring them safely to Phuentshogling”
