Dasho Paljor J.Dorji’s Lawyer said his client will not agree with Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s decision to withdraw the ongoing case between Dasho and the DPT. The Lawyer said Dasho wants to continue the legal battle.
Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) had expressed its intention to withdraw the case last Thursday.
At the hearing in Thimphu District Court, today, Dasho’s Lawyer said DPT has harassed Dasho all this while. “DPT’s frivolous and cantankerous litigation against Dasho Benji has caused Dasho a great mental trauma and financial loss,” the Lawyer submitted to the court.
DPT had filed a libel lawsuit against Special Advisor to the National Environment Commission Dasho Paljor J.Dorji, popularly known as Dasho Benji, in September last year for posting an alleged defamatory statement against the party of having robbed the country blind on Facebook.
The court will decide sometime in June whether DPT will be allowed to withdraw the case.
