A Horse Riding Association called the Taktsang Zhenta Detsuen was inaugurated in Paro, yesterday. Around 28 service providers with over 200 horses are registered under the association.
According to the Dzongkhag Livestock officer, the group has been formed to provide equal income generating opportunities for the horse riding service providers in Tsento Gewog.
The formation of the group is also expected to help improve their service delivery. The service providers at present are residents of the Shari and Tsenzhi communities under Tsento Gewog.
The group also hopes to work towards setting up tourist facilities such as toilets, proper parking spaces, cafeterias and other means to diversify their income sources.
