Dasho Paljor J Dorji, popularly known as Dasho Benji, submitted his evidences to the Thimphu District Court today to prove “Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) is a corrupted and seditious party and has usurped the royal prerogatives”.
Dasho Benji’s Legal Representative said DPT has created division and animosity among the public by organizing party convention on July 19, 2013. He also said the party had introduced clauses in the Land Bill 2012 replacing apolitical members of National Land Commission with political members. He said the party even tried to take away the prerogative of His Majesty the King to grant resettlement land kidu through the added clause.
The Legal representative also cited Education City Project and Trowa Theatre controversies.
He also mentioned about taxes being imposed without following the due procedures during the DPT’s term in the governance.
Giving license to one of the private firms to supply explosives without tendering processes was also underlined by the Legal Representative.
DPT will submit its rebuttal statement on April 23.
