Allow constitutional offices’ members and commissioners back to civil service?

Nov 26, 2014

Allow constitutional offices members and commissioners back to civil serviceMajority of the National Assembly members voted in favour of members and commissioners of the constitutional offices to go back to civil service once their term is over.

Under the present system, a person appointed as the holder, member and commissioner of a constitutional office has to resign from their previous office before taking up a constitutional post.

The National Assembly members decided to amend the Entitlement and Service Conditions Amendment Bill with 21 ‘yes’ votes. Sixteen voted ‘no’ and four abstained.

The members from the Opposition, however, said the constitutional offices themselves are not in favour of the amendment as they fear losing their independence.

The members, who supported the amendment of act, said the act needs to be amended so to be able to retain good civil servants.

Yes take them back as civil servants…but take those civil servants who had to resign under compulsion after the RUB got delinked

When the National Assembly members decided to amend the Entitlement and Service Conditions of the constitutional post holders in the interest of few individuals why don’t they also look into and Amendment the BCSR for upgrading the Graduates who have completed degree but not qualified in RCSC exam. This would benefit thousands of graduatesOr they should allow to resign if they get better opportunities else where.
