Sucide victim’s uncle seeks reinvestigation

The uncle of the 16-year-old female student, who died by suicide in Monggar, has put up an appeal letter to the Chief of Police, seeking reinvestigation.

The police had ruled out foul play after investigation. The incident happened on September 27.

The 16-paged appeal letter states the school authority did not handle the case with sensitivity. He says the school did not provide information to the family members of what exactly happened. He said something detrimental must have happened for his niece to take such a drastic step.

The school authority, on the other hand, said the allegations are unnecessary and that they have done nothing wrong.

The uncle also said the police and medical team had not carried out proper investigation. But the doctor, who was a member of the medical team, said they did what their job entails. He said they went to the scene, did medical examination and found out that it was the case of suicide.

The police also maintained they had carried out proper investigation.

Meanwhile, the police are sending an independent police officer from the headquarters to re-investigate the case.
