The Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Damcho Dorji inaugurated a newly commissioned 20 W FM station in Sherubtse College, yesterday.
The FM station will be on air from October 13, coinciding with the Royal Wedding Anniversary.
The station will be used for both academic purposes for media studies students and as a campus radio for the college.
The FM station will be upgraded to a community radio in the future.
The new FM station is worth Nu.700,000, and was funded by Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation.
Sherubtse FM was first started in 2009 with a small 2W transmitter.
