Four new compactor trucks for Thimphu Thromde

Thimphu thromde- 4 compactor trucks- Japan--.The Japan Government donated another four compactor trucks to Thimphu Thromde, today.

The Thimphu Thrompon, Kinlay Dorjee, said the trucks will enable the city to collect waste effectively and efficiently. He said waste management is the biggest challenge for the city. The new trucks, the Thimphu Thrompon said will definitely help counter the challenge.


“We know that Bhutan has a good track record of properly operating and maintaining equipment provided by Japan’s ODA, and we highly appreciate the efforts of Bhutan for that,” said the Minister for Economic Affairs, Embassy of Japan in New Delhi, Akio Isomata.

He said they hope the four new compactor trucks will also be put into effective use and properly.

The Government of Japan in collaboration with Municipal Government of Yokohama and Fujisawa in Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan donated the trucks.
