Women in Lumang Gewog under Trashigang have come together to form the first-ever cooperative. The Cooperative, inaugurated on Wednesday, will produce livestock feed for cattle and poultry.
They decided to form a group so to be able to meet the growing demand for cattle- an offshoot of increasing popularity of dairy farming.
The Women Livestock Feed Cooperative’s Chairperson, Tshomo, said if they work continuously they can produce 50 packets of feed a day but they hope to produce more in the future.
