Man booked for alleged negligent homicide

DaganaOlice-PoisonArowCase copyDagana Police have detained a 26-year-old man from Balung under Laja Gewog in Dagana for alleged negligent homicide. The accused had laid a bow trap that killed a 40-year-old man when he accidentally stepped on it.

The poisonous arrow from the trap had pierced the man, killing him three hours after the incident, on Monday at around 5:30 PM.

The deceased and his son were on their way to their neighbour’s house when he stepped on the bow trap laid for wild animals.

The accused has been charged under negligent homicide, which states that a defendant shall be guilty of the offence of negligent homicide, if the death is a result of the defendant’s negligence. The offence of negligent homicide shall be a felony of the fourth degree.
