Poor weather condition obstructs attempts to airlift man hit by arrow

Sep 24, 2014

StaryArrow-AirliftA helicopter service organised to airlift a man in Lunana, who was hit by a stray arrow, was suspended due to poor weather condition.

Two attempts were made earlier today to fly to Lunana from Paro airport, but the helicopter had to return halfway, both the times, due to bad weather condition.

The Health Minister, Tandin Wangchuk, said attempts will be made again, tomorrow.

The 30-year-old man was witnessing an archery match when an arrow accidentally hit him on the back, yesterday. He is currently in Lunana ‘s Basic Health Unit.

WHY ONLY THE ARROW HITTING PEOPLE IN REMOTE PLACES LIKE LAYA,LUNANA,HAA..WHY IS NOT HITTING IN THE PLACES LIKE THIMPHU PHUNTSHOLING AND PARO WHERE EVERY DAY WE SEE 100S OF PEOPLE PLAYING ARCHERY WITH THOUSAND OF WITNESSING ….WHY ARROW DONT HIT DURING MATCHES IN CHANGLIMITHANG…WHERE MAX PEOPLE PLAY….THE CONCERNED AUTH HAV TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER…THE CASES OF ARROW HITTING ARE ONLY FROM THIS PLACES LIKE LUNANA,LAYA AND HAA…..BY JUST CARRYING A BOW AND ARROW IN THE RANGE AND START SHOOTING DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE KNOWS HOW TO PLAY SAFELY…WE PLAY ARCHERY BUT WE TAKE SAFETY ALWAYS….
