Worried truckers in Gelegphu

Trucker-Cement-GelegphuEighteen trucks have been waiting outside the PCAL depot in Gelegphu to unload cement for about two weeks now. The consignment could not be unloaded due to a drop in sales which has led to a lack of space in the depot. Truckers are worried the cement will get damaged.

“I don’t know if it is because of the monsoon or there is no budget but the sale is not good like before,” said the depot in charge, Pema Dorji.  He said they could sell up to 180 tons of cement a day. It has now dropped to about 80 tons now.

The truckers are worried the cement will get spoiled due to heat and rain. The truckers said they are just transporters and should not be held liable for the damages.
