The National Assembly finalised that Thrompons, Gups and Mangmis will not be entitled for Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as mentioned in the Local Government member’s entitlement bill. The clause says Thrompons, Gups and Mangmis will be entitled for LTC once every financial year.

The Home Minister, Damchoe Dorji, said LTC is not necessary for Gups as they don’t have to travel elsewhere much. Furthermore, Lyonpo said Gups are not civil servants and therefore should not be entitled for LTC.
Towards the end of the discussion, the House decided to do away with the clause.
