Death toll from Zhemgang boat incident reaches 8(Update): One more body of a missing passenger from the Zhemgang boat mishap was found near Phangkhar Zam, about three kilometres away from Rindibi, where the boat had capsized. This takes the death toll to eight. The deceased is survived by two children with the youngest being just nine-day-old.

One of the construction workers had seen the body and had informed the concerned authorities.

However, the search for the missing passengers had been called off this morning. The search team members were unable to locate the missing passengers even after fifth day since the incident. The locals have been requested to inform the concerned authorities if they come across any clue that would help locate the missing passengers.

Eight people are confirmed dead after a boat capsized in Mangdechhu on Saturday afternoon. Of the 18 on board, six swam to safety and four are still missing.

The surviving passengers say the rope tied to the boat up to the bank for safety had snapped causing the boat to topple.

They were travelling to Rindibi to collect cement for the school construction.
