Two forest fires, which raged simultaneously in Omtakha and Napchey Chiwogs under Lingmukha Gewog under Punakha, have destroyed over 1,600 acres of forests.
While the one at Omtakha, which started on Tuesday afternoon, have been contained, the fire at Napchey, started on Wednesday afternoon, continues to rage.
The police, army and forest personnel from Punakha and staff of PHPA continue to battle the fire.
