May 8, 2014

ForestFire-PunakhaTwo forest fires, which raged simultaneously in Omtakha and Napchey Chiwogs under Lingmukha Gewog under Punakha, have destroyed over 1,600 acres of forests.

While the one at Omtakha, which started on Tuesday afternoon, have been contained, the fire at Napchey, started on Wednesday afternoon, continues to rage.

How can we prevent forest fire please. Do people put on to fires or is it a natural one. We are getting worried and concerned because our COMMON WEALTH FOREST is being destroyed.

MASS PLANTATION OF TREES CAMPAIGN in all our 20 districts should be done to replace our COMMON WEALTH. We have amply destroyed our forests and we already feel the pinch of drought and dry seasons.

This is only my OPINION and HUMBLE SUGGESTION please.
