The students of New Lynn have sent four computers, four webcams, a printer and some library books to Wolathang School. They had raised the fund by showcasing cultural items in New Zealand. The equipment is worth Nu. 3,20,000.

The students of Wolathang Primary School- one of the remote schools in the country- hadn’t had opportunities to explore the even the basic IT facilities. That is set to change with the new equipment.Students helping students access technological facilitiesWolathang Primary School- Punakha.

“The students were taught only in theories in classrooms,” said a Teacher of Wolathang Primary School, Namgay Thinley.

He said the students can at least learn the basics and that would be enough to boost their confidence.

The initiative was taken by the Executive Engineer of Punatshangchhu Hydropower Project Authority, Thinley Tshering. He is also from Wolathang community.
