ECB spends Nu 49 MN less in 2013 electionsThe Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) spent over Nu.426 MN for the 2013 parliamentary elections. The expenses also included the bye-election for the Nanong-Shumar constituency. The figures were released this morning.

The spending was less by Nu. 49 MN compared to the first parliamentary elections in 2008.Elections2013-Expenditures

The Chief Election Commissioner explained that during the first parliamentary elections in 2008, electronic voting machines were bought, mock elections were held and boundary delimitations were also carried out.

The Election Commission will also release a report for all the accounts of 2013 parliamentary elections after it is audited by the Royal Audit Authority.
