Foreign nationals who intend to stay in the country for more than three months will now have to undergo thorough medical checkup. It is the health ministry’s move to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and an effort to monitor diseases, which are likely to be brought in by the foreign nationals visiting Bhutan.
As of January this year, there are a total of about 40,000 foreign nationals residing in Bhutan.
