Reward or penalise after review report: PM

PMIn a move to better implement plans and policies the government will be signing a pact with each and every Dzongkhag in the country. The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, who met with the people of Gelegphu said that the agreement would include all the planned activities to be achieved within a year. Lyonchhen said Dzongkhags would be rewarded or penalised depending on the review report.

Lyonchhen added that with the decentralization of power, roles and responsibilities, every individual would be held accountable for its achievement or failure.

“There is no system right now. If you have done a good job you will be rewarded and likewise if you have failed then you will have to take the responsibility,” added Lyonchhen.

He said, the pact would be between the relevant agencies or ministries and it would be reviewed after a year. “Slowly gewogs will also be involved in the process.”

The proposals for the planned activities are to be submitted by the Dzongkhags, while all the support, basically financial will be extended by the government.

Meanwhile, people are hopeful that this system will bring about a positive change in the government.
