Druk-Gi-Nyagoe received a hero’s welcome as he arrived home in Trongsa on Friday. It was a grand homecoming. Phuntsho Wangdi, 35, from Tangsibji Gewog was received with jubilation by the people of Trongsa.
Some came all the way to Pelela to greet and receive him back home. Later in the evening, the Nyagoe was greeted by the villagers in a traditional ceremony.
The students of Tshangkha Primary School honored him with welcome songs and dances. In town, business people celebrated with a traditional Jachang ceremony.
The trophy was also received amid a traditional ceremony. The trophy was later handed over to the dzongkhag administration.
