Two separate accidents, two dead

A 26-year-old man has been killed in an accident on the Thimphu-Wangdue highway yesterday. He was driving a Bolero jeep. It veered off the road at Penzogyem near Thinleygang.

The only passenger in the vehicle survived and is being treated at the national referral hospital in Thimphu. Police cite over speeding as the probable cause.

In another accident, a 42-year-old woman has been killed in Monggar. The accident also left three people were injured, one of them critically. The Maruti taxi they were travelling in went off the road at Palangphu around 10pm. They had come from Tsakaling village to shop in Monggar town.

Meanwhile, on royal command, the Gyalpoi Zimpon’s office in Monngar delivered a semso of Nu.10, 000 to the family members of the deceased and Nu.2,000 each for the injured.
