Nanong-Shumar’s common forum starts

CommonForum-Nanong-SHumarThe common forum for the Nanong-Shumar’s by-election in Pema Gatshel kicked off from today. The forum began from Shumar Gewog.

“I will get one of the colleges to Pema Gatshel,” the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, Pema Wangchuk, 34, said in the forum. The People’s Democratic Party had promised to establish three colleges in the eastern part of the country.  The Canberra graduate added the Dzongkhag is near Samdrup Jongkhar and this proximity will also benefit half of the population under Trashigang Dzongkhag.

Pema Wangchuk has Masters in Law. Before joining politics, he was working with the Anti-Corruption Commission.

Pema Wangchuk’s opponent and Druk PhunsumTshogpa’s candidate, Denchen Zangmo, did not make it to the forum.

The common forum for Nanong-Shumar constituency will conclude on November 1.

The constituency has a total of 8,278 voters, of which 4,114 are male and 4,164 female.
