For the purpose of better coverage of environmental based stories, the Bhutan Forum for Environmental Journalists was launched yesterday. The forum is a collaborative initiative of the Earth Journalism Network, the Third Pole Net and Bhutan Media Foundation.
The executive director of Bhutan Media Foundation said Bhutan is one of the few countries that have preserved the environment. He therefore said it is important for the journalists to specialize in environmental journalism.
The Earth Journalism Network is the project under inter-news, an international Non-governmental organization that fosters independent media worldwide. And the Third Pole Net is also a non-governmental organization in India that focuses on environmental issues.
