The Chief justice of Bhutan, Lyonpo Sonam Tobgye, and the Indian ambassador V.P Haran inaugurated the newly constructed Panbang dungkhag, today.
The inaugurations of two other dungkhag courts in Wamrong in Tashigang and Sibsoo in Samtse were held today as well.
The Chief Guest V.P Haran in his inaugural speech said India is happy to contribute to the strengthening of judiciary in Bhutan. He said the new infrastructure constructed for Panbang court would help the court in speedy delivery of justice to the people of Panbang dungkhag.
Eight dungkhag courts have been constructed with the help of GOI funding. The ongoing construction of the Supreme Court in Thimphu is also being funded by GOI.
Dungkhag officials, dzongkhag officials, local leaders, officials from Thimphu attended inauguration ceremony.
