50 different sacred relics arrive in Bhutan

relicAbout 50 different sacred relics belonging to prominent Buddhist masters arrived in the country, from Norway yesterday. The relics will be displayed for public veneration in the capital from the 17th till the 22nd of this month.

The relics will be displayed at the RAPA hall in Chubachu. The relics include the Ringsel of Lord Buddha, his two disciples, Nagarjuna, Longchenpa, Marapa and Milarepa among others.

A script written on a banana leaf by Khandro Yeshe Tsogyal, the hair relics of Dudjom Rinpoche, Kalu Rinpoche, Penor Rinpoche and the 16th Karmapa will also be on the display.

These relics have been donated by Buddhist spiritual leaders from around the world.  The relics will be displayed in Trashigang from the 28th to the 31st of October and will travel to other dzongkhags as well.
