The Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Damchoe Dorji, met with the local government leaders, regional heads and the Sector Heads of the Monggar dzongkhag, on Saturday.
During the meeting, the Minister briefed them on the finalized 11th FYP, and on some of the priorities of the government.
Poverty reduction, improving economic status and national debt were some of the issues highlighted by the Minister.
Some of the local leaders expressed their concerns over the major deduction in gewog budget. They appealed the minister to refrain from cutting it down below the gewog ceiling. The Minister said all activities must be prioritised accordingly.
About 60 officials, including Monggar Dzongda, attended the meeting. The National Council Member Sonam Wangchuk was also present at the meeting.
