Every graduate must strive to become productive citizens: PM

PM+Address+NGOP2013The Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, while addressing the graduates at the orientation programme yesterday, every graduate must strive to become productive citizens. He said they should take advantage of the education and realise their potential.

Lyonchhen congratulated them for successfully graduating from universities around the world. He reminded the graduates to be mindful of the great sacrifices made by their parents for what they are today.

Speaking on this year’s theme, ‘In quest of productive citizen’, Lyonchhen said, each of the graduates attending must strive to become productive citizens.

“You have the potential as you all have graduated. You have the skills, some of you already have experience, you have the ability. Whether or not, you use your potential it is in your hand”

As part of the programme, Lyonchhen also interacted and responded to some of the concerns raised by the graduates.

During the question hour sessions, the graduates questioned the government on their pledges to do away preliminary examination. They also asked about the government’s initiatives to facilitate the entrepreneurs and resolving unemployment issues among others.

The president of Bhutan Kuen-Nyam Party and Vice-President of Druk Nyamdrup Tshogpa also spoke about their parties experience and challenges during the last elections.
