The Local Leaders of Zhemgang are miffed after they were apparently left out while planned activities of the dzongkhag were being drawn.
They raised their reservations during the two-day Dzongkhag Tshogdu (DT), which began in Zhemgang, today.
“The planned activities were developed without our consultation,” Nangla Gup, Tshering Needup. Goshing Gup, Sangay Lethro said they also never get an opportunity while education plan activities are being implemented.
The Assistant Dzongkhag Education Officer, Sonam Wangdi, who was also present in the meeting, said the consultation was held with all the DT members and in line with the 10th Five Year Plan and yearly financial plan period.
“We do not simply plan our activities and distribute, we go around and then consult with school heads, conduct meetings and then accordingly develop the plan activities.”
About Nu.46 million has been allocated to the Dzongkhag Education Sector of Zhemgang for the financial year 2013-2014.
This is the fifth local government meeting being held. About 60 members, including Dzongkhag sector heads, local leaders, and regional heads business representatives are attending the two day meeting.
