Council deliberates on Trowa theatre land case

TrowaTheatreThe National Council today deliberated on the follow-up report of the Changjiji Trowa theatre land case. The Council’s Good Governance Committee presented the report on the administrative decisions taken by the Dispute Settlement Committee.

However, the Chairperson of the good governance committee, Tashi Wangmo, pointed out that the Council has not received a report from the Ministry of Works and Human Settlement (MoWHS), whether the Dispute Settlement Committee’s decisions were implemented or not.

Some of their decisions were; disapproving the proposal to sell the land occupied by Trowa theatre, new lease agreement to be executed between the MoWHS and the new lessee for 25 years, among others.

The good governance committee recommended that the Land Commission should follow up with the ministry on the implementation. This comes after the committee reviewed the report received from the National Land Commission.

The Council of the first Parliament had directed the National Land Commission to conduct a thorough study and submit a report. This was done after the Anti–Corruption Commission had earlier reported to the Council that there was no policy corruption in the Changjiji Trowa theatre land case.
