DCT out but hopeful about 2018

Lily-Wangchhuk-Druk-Chirwang-PartyDespite failing to make it to the general round of the National Assembly elections, Druk Chirwang Tshogpa (DCT) is determined to start preparing for the 2018 elections.

DCT President Lily Wangchhuk shared that she is content with the number of votes gathered by her party during the primary round as her party had campaigned for less than two weeks.

DCT secured 5.9 percent of the total votes, the least among the four parties in the primary round. Due to this, the party will not qualify for state funding in the 2018 elections.

According to electoral laws, to receive state funding, the party needs to have at least 10 percent of the total votes.

Lily Wangchhuk said it was financially challenging even with state funding in this election, so DCT hopes to manage by pooling their resources in 2018.
