Police-Youth Partnership Programme begins

A 15-day Police Youth Partnership Programme began yesterday in Wangduephodrang, Samtse, Trashigang and Phuentsholing. This is the fifth phase of the Police-Youth Partnership Programme.

During the programme, participants will be sensitised on drug abuse, fire and traffic safety, youth policing, community service, and youth and HIV/AIDS. They will also be sensitized on Child Rights and Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Kick starting the programme, the Trashigang police superintendent said the Royal Bhutan Police aspires to explore the potential of fostering closer relationship with the youth and use them as goodwill ambassador and agents of change for other youth at risk.

Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will be rewarded with payment of stipend and accredited with a certificate of participation.
