Hamada city lends a hand to promote creative industries

hamadaCity-CreativeIndustriesThe Japanese city of Hamada will assist Bhutan in the areas of traditional artwork, education, culture and promotion of industries. An agreement to this effect was signed this morning.

The city of Hamada was represented by Tetsuo Uzu, the city’s Mayor, who arrived in the country yesterday leading a 12-member delegation.

Foreign Secretary, Yeshey Dorji, represented the Bhutanese side.

A news release from the ministry of foreign affairs says some of the technical collaboration, that is under consideration by Hamada City for implementation soon, include handmade paper project, middle school students exchange program and exhibition of artwork.

While in the country, the Mayor of Hamada city will meet with the Secretary of Education and the Joint Secretary of Ministry of Economic Affairs to discuss the areas of cooperation.

The foreign ministry says the cooperation is aimed at further strengthening the bonds of friendship between Bhutan and the city of Hamada.
