A fire disaster was averted today at the Bhutan Oil Distributors fuel depot in Paro. Timely action of the police fire department prevented the accident, which could have otherwise, led to many casualties and destruction of property.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 am when petrol was being transferred from a fuel tanker truck into the underground storage.
The Police say the cause is under investigation but witnesses have reported it to be from a short circuit.
