Bhutan Education City awarded by IMF-World Bank

Mar 7 2013

Bhutan-Education-CityThe Bhutan Education City has won the IMF-World Bank’s title of Bronze project in the East Asia, Pacific and South Asia region.

Punjab Grain Silos of India took the gold project title and another project from India called CLIFF Community Sanitation bagged the silver project title.

The projects were recognized for demonstrating best practices in providing a wide range of public services, and for their potential to spur economic growth.

Such projects are seen as an important element for growth and poverty reduction in developing economies by the IMF-World Bank.

The IMF-World Bank will hold an award ceremony to honour the projects in April in Washington D.C, during its Spring Meeting.

Out of 130 entries from emerging economies of the world, 40 public-private partnership projects were shortlisted for the awards.
