The 10th and final session of the National Council concluded, today with members unanimously agreeing to be a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Over the last eight days, the house adopted four Bills: the Road Bill, the Contract Bill, the Domestic Violence Prevention Bill, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Bill of Bhutan 2012.
The house ratified the SAARC Agreement on Rapid Response to National Disaster, and the SAARC Agreement on the Implementation of Regional Standards. The members also ratified the SAARC Agreement on Multilateral Arrangement on Recognition of Conformity Assessment.
At the closing ceremony, members expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for his wise guidance, and selfless and tireless service to the nation.
The session concluded with members offering Tashi Moenlam to His Majesty the King, His Majesty the Fourth King, and the Gyaltsuen.
