The Opposition Leader, Tshering Tobgay, questioned the government on the delay of the construction of the farm road that will stretch from Gakiling to Sombaykha gewog in Haa, in the National Assembly, today.
He also asked the government the possibilities of completing the work within the 10th five year plan.
The construction work of the farm road began in 2009. As of today, only 30 kilometres out of 59 have been complete.
MP Damchoe Dorji of Goenkhatoe-Laya asked if the government is neglecting the opposition’s constituencies.
The agriculture and forests minister, Dr. Pema Gyamtsho, said completing the works within the current plan would not be possible. He said it will be prioritized during the 11th five year plan. Lyonpo also said the construction was delayed due to unfavorable construction site.
