Bhutan establishes diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan

Bhutan-AzerbaijanBhutan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, have established diplomatic relations.

The Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed between Lhatu Wangchuk, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Bhutan to the United Nations, and Agshin Mehdiyev, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, at the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan in New York, yesterday.

At the signing, the two Ambassadors expressed interest to cooperate closely in the bilateral and multilateral fields. They also discussed possible cooperation in the area of tourism and trade.

Azerbaijan is the 51st country with which Bhutan has established diplomatic relations with.
