Five men have been arrested by the Trashigang police in connection with the chorten vandalism. Three chortens were vandalised at Barshong in Khaling under Trashigang on November 12, last year.
Of the five, one was arrested from his house in Samdrup Jongkhar on November. The others were arrested from Barshong in Trashigang.
The Trashigang police say, some of them have confessed to the crime. In their statement to the police, they have said, they sold four cat’s eye and some coral necklaces and have already spent the money.
In yet another connection with the chorten vandalism in Trashigang, Monggar and Bumthang, two men have been arrested. They were arrested from Trashigang on January 31.
The Police said both the men have confessed to the crime.
